Humidifiers || The Best Kept Secret For Better Skin

Humidifiers have gained so much popularity recently. Basically, they are devices that turn water into steam to increase moisture (humidity) in the air. We mainly use them to keep a closer eye on our allergies and respiratory health. But their benefits don’t stop here; they are the secret for dewy and well-hydrated skin.

Dermatologists recommend using it for patients who suffer with skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis. Yes, it is a great way to get a better skin, but make sure to clean it regularly, otherwise it may backfire. If the water or device is dirty, so will be the air that penetrate into your skin. That said, make sure you do regular cleaning, change filters and fill the device with distilled water to avoid any collection of hardness in the machine.

Humidifiers

Humidifiers are useful all year round, especially during flu season when the weather is drier. Dry air can make moisture evaporate from your skin leaving it cracked and worsening conditions such as eczema and chapped lips. So adding moisture to the air will be super beneficial especially for dry and dehydrated skin.

By retaining moisture in the skin, humidifiers help maintaining a healthy skin barrier, and in turn, you will notice less dryness, flaking, redness, and even breakouts. Another thing, have you ever started kicking covers while asleep? you are not alone, this is because our body temperature change while we are asleep, so the environment start pulling moisture from our skin trying to regulate our body temperature. And while we’re sleeping, the body’s hydration rebalances, encouraging skin metabolism and cell turnover and repair, so it is critical to support skin during this time, and humidifiers are a great tool to do that.

While these devices are so helpful, they are not a substitute for your skincare products. And like everything else, don’t overuse it to avoid any health or skin problems.

You can make your own humidifier for now by placing a glass bowl or pot filled with water on a heater. The water will evaporate and add moisture into the air.
