What is FaceGym and Can It Be Done At Home?

What is FaceGym?

The FaceGym is basically a workout for your face. Just like you train your body muscles during your gym session incorporating a warm-up, cardio, and cool down, FaceGym applies a similar routine but as the name suggests; to your face. The FaceGym trainers perform a range of lifting and sculpting workouts designed to train more than 40 muscles in the face. The results are then supported with high-performance skincare products and non-invasive technology.

What Are The Benefits?

The benefits of the face massage (workout) start from stimulating blood circulation and collagen to boosting the lymphatic system and increasing cell renewal.

Moving your face muscles will keep your skin lifted, tightened, and toned. It also helps detox the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines giving you more youthful and glowing-looking skin.

Can It Be Done At Home?

While the idea of visiting a “FaceGym” sounds so fancy and tempting you can actually do the moves at home, just like you do your at-home body workout. Here are some exercises you can try.

Fish Pose

For strengthening your mouth muscles

  1. While holding your collarbone with your hands on either side tilt your head back slowly till you feel a stretch.
  2. Start opening and closing your mouth like a fish making circles as if you were saying ‘ouch’.
  3. Repeat 10 times.

Corrugator Lift

For strengthening your forehead and brightening your eyes.

  1. Place your index finger firmly on your corrugator muscle, right between your eyebrows.
  2. Start raising your eyebrows up and down as far as you can go to deepen the stretch.
  3. Repeat 10 times.

Eeeeee

Again for strengthening your mouth muscles

  1. While holding your collarbone with your hands on either side look ahead and say eeeeeee.
  2. Repeat 10 times.

Cheek Burpees

For tightening your cheeks.

  1. Place your right hand on the right side of your face. Lightly use your hand to pull the cheeks skin back.
  2. Breathe out forcefully toward the left for ten reps. Try as hard as you can to work against the stretch created from your hand!
  3. Do the same exercise on your left cheek.
  4. Repeat 10 times on each side.

The Fist

  1. Make a fist and rest your chin on it.
  2. While you maintain the upward pressure from your fist, open your mouth against that pressure, and then close again. Keep opening and closing while maintaining the pressure from your fist.
  3. Repeat 10 times.

The smile

For strengthening the muscles around the mouth.

  1. While keeping your whole face still, smile by pulling the corners of your mouth outward. Think of saying the letter “E”.
  2. Hold for at least 10 seconds, rest a few seconds and repeat.
  3. Repeat 10 times.
