Trending Summer 2022 || The Corset is Getting a Modern Makeover

Our Instagram feed is all about corset dresses and tops lately, and we are in love. The sexy trend has made its way back to the fashion scene since the beginning of this year, and it is not going anywhere any time soon.   

In our minds, corsets are all about organ-crushing, faint-inducing, and waist training. But these preconceptions do not apply to the new generation of corsets which are more fun and less restrictive. This year’s corset is closer to a bustier top that will make you feel sexy, empowered, and confident without trying to achieve the “ideal” body type image that has been related to corsets for so long. 

The seductive corset was one of the hottest trends at 2022’s Met Gala; fashion’s most important night of the year. The trend made a glorious reappearance with the likes of Billie Eilish, Sydney Sweeney, Blake Lively, and the Hadid sisters stepping out in exquisite gowns featuring corsets in all their forms.

The new corset is the perfect mix of high-school rebellion, cool party dressing, and that Y2K style that seems to stay around forever. It features bright colors, metallic finishes, and edgy prints and can be worn as part of a dress, as a top with trousers, mini skirts, and cargo pants, or as part of a matching co-ord set.
