Your Ultimate Guide To Spring Skincare

As the seasons change, updating our skincare routines becomes just as important as refreshing our wardrobes. For me, adjusting my skincare regimen is a top priority, as it should be for everyone. This helps protect your skin from the harsh effects of the sun and preserves the effort you put in during winter to maintain a healthy, radiant glow for beach days.

1 || Time To Upgrade Your SPF

We are assuming that by now you know how important it is to use sunscreen every single day of the year. During hot months, we suggest you upgrade your sun protection factor from 30 to 50 or even more. Choose something lightweight that will give your skin a nice glow and set well under makeup. A great option that I personally use currently is LA ROCHE-POSAY Anthelios Uvmune 400 Invisible Fluid SPF50.

2 || Give Your Skin A Vitamin Boost

Did you know that combining an antioxidant serum or cream with SPF enhances their benefits? That’s right! If you haven’t already, start blending your SPF with vitamin C, A, E, or niacinamide for the best defense against sunlight, free radicals, and other skin-damaging environmental elements.

3 || Hello To The Glow

During the spring and summer, it’s a great opportunity to gently incorporate or increase your use of chemical exfoliation to achieve luminous, radiant skin. For those with oily skin, using salicylic acid for chemical exfoliation 1-2 times per week can be beneficial. Meanwhile, individuals with normal or combination skin can see advantages from incorporating an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) 1-2 times per week.

4 || Swap Your Cleanser

You need to go as light as possible during spring. Consider swapping your cleanser to a gel-based formula. As the weather warms up, your skin won’t need to lock in moisture anymore as it produces more natural oils.

5 || Choose A Lighter Moisturizer

The last thing you want as the weather warms up is to overload spring skin with excess oil. To avoid this, you need to switch to a lighter-weight cream. During hot months, your skin won’t require as rich creams but instead more lightweight hydrating ingredients.

6 || It Is All In The Essence

As spring arrives, make sure to keep a lightweight essence or mist on hand. A quick spritz from your favorite mist can instantly hydrate and refresh your skin without clogging your pores.
