Your Hair Is Falling Out? Here Is What To Do

1 || Use Gentle Products

If your strands look dull or dry, your hair products may be the culprit. Harsh ingredients are the biggest enemy of your hair, they can strip your scalp of its natural oils damaging your hair follicles and structure. Avoid products with sulfates, parabens, and alcohol as much as you can. Instead, look for natural ingredients such as plant oils, such as jojoba oil, geranium, argan oil, aloe, chamomile, or coconut oil.

2 || Wear Your Hair Loose

Tight buns or ponytails may look good, but they negatively affect the health of your hair. They can weaken and damage your strands, causing them to fall out. And it doesn’t stop there; tight hairstyles and certain hair accessories, such as elastic hair ties and hairpins, can damage your follicles to the point where they can no longer grow. To protect your hair from permanent damage, switch to looser hairstyles and avoid regularly styling it tightly.

3|| Rethink Extensions

Extensions can harm your hair, especially if it is already compromised. Extensions require pulling natural hair tightly while putting pressure on the existing hair follicles. The constant pulling can cause strands of hair to break or fall out, and it may cause permanent damage to your hair follicles.

4 || Clear Buildups

A healthy and clean scalp equals healthy hair. So if you are using styling products excessively, you are clogging your follicles which results in increased hair loss. Use a clarifying or deep-cleaning shampoo to maintain a fresh and healthy scalp and hair.

5 || Shampoo Less

Too much of a good thing is bad, this is the case when it comes to shampooing daily. It can strip your hair of its natural oils, which can ultimately result in hair loss. Aiming for shampooing your hair every other day at the most is advisable, allowing your hair to retain its natural oils and promoting overall hair health.

6 || It Is All About Your Diet

Your hair’s health is closely linked to your diet. To promote optimal growth and nourish your hair, it is recommended to include lean protein sources like fish, along with a variety of nutritious foods such as rich green leafy vegetables, nuts, berries, and legumes in your diet.

7 || Space Out Dyeing & Treatment Sessions

Chemical treatments like dyes, perms, or relaxers have the potential to cause temporary hair loss. In more severe cases, where the scalp is burned and the follicles are scarred, these treatments can even lead to permanent hair loss.

8 || Manage Stress Levels

Extreme, prolonged stress can make your follicles go through a shedding cycle. This can happen even after three months of chronic stress, but the good news is that the growth cycle rebalances naturally. Just try to stay healthy and manage your stress levels as much as you can.
